classroom resource:
author profiles
Each year, I divided my classes into houses. Instead of using the traditional houses, my students were sorted into "author" houses. Once the houses were determined each year, I broke students into groups and provided them with handouts about their house author. They would then use these handouts to determine the key characteristics of their house.
